A few weeks ago, on the memorial weekend, we decided to go up to Alberta to visit Ashley and Gerald. It took a bit longer to get there than we thought it would, but it was a beautiful drive through Banff and we did eventually arrive safely. Ashley prepared a delicious meal of haystacks for dinner.
On Sabbath we went to church in the morning and hiking at a nearby park in the afternoon. We brought the dogs and they had a great time running through the fields and wading in streams. Olive decided to get a drink from one of the streams we came across, but the bank was steeper than she thought and she fell in and Lindsay had to pull her out. Then she ran to another part of the stream and dropped her front end in, leaving her back end on the bank. Needless to say, it didn't work well and she couldn't get her head out of the water for more than a few seconds at a time. Lindsay ran over and pulled her out, getting soaked in the process. In the evening we went to a Greek restaurant for supper (it was great) and afterwards we went to see Indiana Jones.

On Sunday we drove to the West Edmonton Mall. We shopped for a couple hours and then spent the rest of the afternoon at the water park swimming in the wave pool and going down water slides. For supper we went to the spaghetti factory. When we got home in the evening we had a camp fire. The dogs were kinda hyper from their afternoon in crates and spent most of the evening chasing each other around the yard and wrestling.
Monday we hung out around the house most of the day, went on a walk with the dogs and got a quick tour of CUC's campus. Ashley made another delicious meal (mmmm, Special K Roast) and surprised Lindsay with a birthday Ice Cream cake!

Tuesday we drove back to Washington. We took a different route back and it took a lot less time. Olive seemed really sad in the car ride back to be leaving Zoey behind. She had so much fun playing with her.
More pictures of the trip.
